Life can move way past of us and there are times when you could lose complete
control over it. Indeed life is quite unpredictable and you can never know what will
come your way, but you must be ready for it all. When adversity strikes, make the
following few adjustments to your life, they will bring you great dividends.
1) Journal: We have numerous thoughts a day and many are worth remembering so
make it a habit of noting down your important thoughts. Even if it is just noting
down what you are grateful for, or a to do list or things that you are struggling with.
Whatever it maybe, when you write it down you are in a better position to take
action.
2) Don’t waste time on things that do not add to your life: Don’t say yes to
everything and everyone. It could be a big waste of time. Choose to do only what is
important. Learn to relax, let go of unnecessary stuff and prioritize the important
ones for your life.
3) Reflect: Reflect on your life and monitor your progress. Check on your
professional life, your career, your love life, your family life and so on. See how you
feel. Check if any area requires your focus and work on it accordingly.
4) Sleep well: A good 6-8 hours of restful sleep at night is very essential for your
body to rejuvenate. When sleep deprived everything looks haywire. Your mood is
affected and you cannot make the right decisions.
5) Talk about your feelings: We are all human beings. We all have feelings some bad
and some good. Don’t bottle up your feelings. You will feel miserable. Learn to open
up and talk about them. Find a colleague, a friend or even a life coach to help you
open up your feelings. Do not shy away from doing so.
6) Plan your days: Make it a point to plan out your day the previous night. Make a to
do list of all the things that you want to achieve. Set forth the agenda of the day and
this will help you achieve all that you need to get done. Never start your day
unplanned.
7) Do the hardest task of the day first: Eat the frog first! As you start your day make
sure you complete the hardest task first. In this manner you get over the toughest
part of your day and then are free to live the rest of it with ease.
